'Old Timers' get ready for picnic

First of all, you don’t have to be old (and what is old, anyway?) to participate in the Old Timers’ Potluck Picnic. You don’t even have to have lived here all that long – but you may have, or wish you had. Forget all that; just come to the picnic, bring something good to eat and have fun with folks who value Fallbrook!

The annual event, a longstanding tradition in Fallbrook, will be held Sunday, June 24, at the Historical Society museum, which you can easily find at 375 Rocky Crest Road. Rocky Crest is off South Mission, across from the Union Bank/Dominick’s Deli center.

Organizers Jack Story, president of the Historical Society, and his lovely wife Shirley say everyone is invited to the potluck picnic, which will be held, for the first time, in the newly constructed barn on the property. Come initiate it (and admire it) with the others.

The event begins at 11 a.m. and will include raffle prizes, tours of the museum exhibits and, most importantly, a good time.

Admission is free, with a friendly reminder to bring a potluck dish to share with the other picnickers. My suggestion is to bring something fabulously tasty to share and make lots of new friends!

If you have specific questions, call Jack or Shirley at (760) 728-7078.
