Brand accepted to racing program

Jordyn Brand, a 2003 graduate of Fallbrook Union High School and recent graduate of the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program, was chosen from approximately 200 applicants worldwide to Darley Flying Start, a two-year management-training program sponsored by Darley’s Sheikh Mohammed that takes 12 trainees each year to the heart of the thoroughbred racing industry. The students will be based at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley properties in Ireland, England, the United States, Australia and Dubai and will have the novel experience of training with the industry’s leading professionals.

“Given the highly competitive nature of the selection process for the unique and limited opportunity that Darley Flying Start offers, it is a testimony to the caliber of student Jordyn is. I am sure she is well prepared for her new challenge,” said Race Track Industry Program Director Doug Reed.

The University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program offers both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree program with an emphasis on the pari-mutuel racing industry and hosts the annual Symposium on Racing and Gaming every December in Tucson. For more information, visit http://www.ua-rtip.org.
