The Golf Club of California team was victorious at their home course on Tuesday, June 5. They scored 226 points in the modified Stableford format. They won three of the four matches this year. The Fallbrook Winery Cup, a magnum of Cabernet Sauvignon with all the club logos, was presented at the winery on June 19.
The Golf Club of California team was headed by PGA professional Ken Foster. Team members were Messieurs Mertens, Rochlis, Titus, Munson, Wasdyke, Grajek and Paterra.
After the top score of 930 points, Pala Mesa had 909 points, followed by San Luis Rey’s team with 890 and, in last place with high hopes for next season, Fallbrook Golf Club with 848 points.
Competitions began in March at Fallbrook Golf Course, followed by a match at San Luis Rey and then Pala Mesa. Pala Mesa held a slight two-point lead before the match at Golf Club of California on June 5.
This competition involved all the courses in Fallbrook and the trophy was sponsored by Fallbrook Winery; it was a truly successful Fallbrook Village event.
