Healthy Woman program features cancer survivor

FALLBROOK — June’s Healthy Woman program, held at Caffé Primo, featured Mary Ellen Langlois, a cancer survivor who captivated the audience of 70 with her inspirational story and lessons on how to understand and deal with life changes. In addition, Dr. Hanh Le, a board certified OB/GYN with Graybill Medical Group and member of Fallbrook Hospital Medical Staff, discussed the new HPV cervical cancer vaccine and the importance of regular well-woman checkups. The event was sponsored by Coldwell Banker Landmark Group.

The Healthy Woman community collaborative is coordinated by Monique Murphy-Mijares and Jan Mangus of Fallbrook Hospital and supported by an advisory council of community representatives and by local business partners. This free community resource program features a series of monthly educational programs designed to provide women with information on how to take care of their emotional, physical and fiscal wellbeing.

The next Healthy Woman event will be held Thursday, July 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Henry’s Farmers Market, Highway 76 at College Boulevard in Oceanside. Featured presentations will include “Aromatherapy for Women” and “Top 10 Vitamins and Herbs for Women.” Seating is limited. Call (760) 731-8432 to RVSP.
