Bonsall Rotary passes gavel

BONSALL — Bonsall Rotary president Brent McFarland was recognized on his last day of office with a roast.

McFarland, a local contractor, oversaw and facilitated the many Rotary activities of the year, including Christmas Party with Santa for local children, painting of the Senior Center, building of a house in Mexico, converting a mobile home into a dental clinic in Mexico, purchasing of local 4-H animals at the San Diego County Fair, the official wine bottling for the Bonsall wine label, recognition of students of the month for Fallbrook High School and Bonsall Elementary, presentation of two vocational scholarships, backpacks for schoolchildren in Tijuana, dictionaries for Bonsall-area third-graders, fabulous weekly programs, the 12th Annual North Country Wine and Food Festival and laying the groundwork for a major clean water project in Africa.
