Want to save a trip to the DMV?

West Coast Auto Registration has a distinct mission: to be 100 percent accurate in all transactions and to take the hassle out of the red tape many associate with vehicle registration and related transactions.

“We want to make the experience a pleasant one,” said Cindy Beebe, owner.

Beebe opened a second location of West Coast Auto Registration on Camp Pendleton this past December. While the Fallbrook location has grown at a steady pace for the last five years, the Camp Pendleton location has experienced a huge surge in business. Beebe explained that the DMV is on the military base only one day per week, which has left many people in a “vehicle transaction” bind.

“There are thousands of people on base, and the DMV could not meet the needs of the military,” she said. The Military Corps Community Service (MCCS) found it necessary to contract a registration service to ease the burden for soldiers and their families.

Having an office on the military base has been a very moving and gratifying experience for Beebe on a personal level. “It’s huge to me,” she said. “I am highly supportive of our troops, and to be able to assist them in any minuscule thing to make their life or their families’ life easier is wonderful.”

Beebe said vehicle registrations expire on a daily basis for vehicles owned by deployed troops. When these Marines come home, by law, she is able to waive these registration penalties.

For out-of-state Marines who are assigned here by government orders, the State of California will exempt them from paying a full vehicle licensing fee. Unfortunately, many members of the local military were unaware of this until informed by West Coast Auto. “A lot of them have been paying this partial fee for years, and we are getting their money back for them,” said Beebe.

“It is a real blessing to be part of the Camp Pendleton community,” she added. “I really wish I could do this for free. [The troops] are out there risking their lives for us, so it means a lot to help them.”

Beebe prides herself on staying up-to-date on vehicle registration laws in order to continually help her customers at both the Camp Pendleton and Fallbrook offices. “We advocate for the client so we can provide a better service for them,” she said. “I make sure that my clients pay the least amount of money necessary to the DMV.”

West Coast Auto Registration is licensed and bonded by the State of California to provide DMV services. The only transactions the private company is unable to issue are driver’s licenses and driving record printouts. However, this family-owned business can help eliminate the long wait at the DMV by assisting people with speedy vehicle registration and transfers, renewals and the issuance of plates and stickers.
