Global climate mania

According to your beliefs, Mr. Monday, people’s opinions are being “formed by what news channel they watch or what political commentator they listen to.” And now after reading your letter [“Global climate change,” Village News, Opinion, 6/28/07], let’s add “what Hollywood movie they are watching.”

You also stated that any argument to refute global warming is slated by the fact that most of them are “funded by corporations and lobbying groups with vested interests.” What about the others that are not slated? I think there is some evidence that something is going on in our “global environment,” I just do not believe it is all the fault of the “anthropogenic (human)” contribution.

The confidence level on that is >90 percent. As far as the contribution you and I have given to these greenhouse gas concentrations, I am proud of it. My contribution allows me to provide for my family, work, heat my home and various other things that make this country civilized. Do you enjoy any of these privileges?

Is it possible that global warming has been exaggerated by your “corporations and lobbying groups with vested interests?” One thing I know, the terms “green” and “environmentally friendly” sure seem to sell a lot better these days (confidence level >100 percent).

Also, the reason Bush politically caved into “The Great Global Warming Swindle” (look it up) is because the momentum behind the fallacious argument is now so powerful you either hop on the bandwagon or get run over by it.

In conclusion, Mr. Monday, the sky is not falling and if the sea level rises 7.08 to 23.22 inches, it should provide more habitat for the fish I like to eat.
