'One Nation Under Song' appearing in Vista this summer

Broadway Theater owner Randall Hickman will present “One Nation Under Song: 200 Years of American Music” from July 12 to August 12.

“One Nation Under Song” will chronicle, in song and dance, music from the 1800s through today. It tackles gospel, blues, jazz, big band, rock and roll, country and everything in between.

“We have a huge costume budget,” Hickman said. “Every era has its own look and feel. I have been telling friends that the real show is backstage. Watching my actors change from one costume to another in less than 45 seconds is like watching ‘choreographed mayhem.’”

The cast consists of Broadway Theater favorites Shauna Hart Ostrom, Shelly Hart Breneman and Gregory Starkey. Rounding out the cast are Broadway Theater newcomers Megan Barrow, Brian Imoto, Garrett Harris and Kelly Mustain. Hickman is sharing choreography billing with Fallbrook Dance teacher Alison Whitman.

The production plays Thursdays through Sundays. Tickets can be obtained online at http://www.broadwayvista.com or order by phone at (760) 806-7905.
