NaturVet donates $22,500 to area shelters

TEMECULA — On Thursday, June 14, the NaturVet Foundation donated a total of $22,500 to three different area animal shelters to support their educational programs. This money was raised at NaturVet’s first annual Fur Ball Golf Tournament on May 24 at the beautiful Fallbrook Golf Course.

Among the recipients of the donations were the North County Humane Society, the Escondido Humane Society and Animal Friends of the Valleys. “We are honored to receive this donation from the NaturVet Foundation,” said Christine Thompson, North County Humane Society.

Members of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce were also on hand for the presentation. “The NaturVet Foundation is a caring organization,” said Alice Sullivan, president and CEO of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce. “The founders of the organization, Scott and Traci Garmon, are very passionate about their cause and the animals they help.”

“I want to bring awareness to the community that there are alternatives to buying pets from poor-quality breeders and stores that support mass volume puppy mills,” said Traci Garmon, co-founder of The Garmon Corporation and co-owner of NaturVet. “Educating others that there are great pets ready and waiting to be adopted, many of which are already trained and have nothing wrong with them, is the passion behind this foundation.”
