Fallbrook wins June Senior Cribbage Match

After getting spanked in the May Senior Challenge Cribbage match, the Fallbrook team rebounded with a big win on June 28. Fallbrook won 73 games to Oceanside’s 61 in the 38-player match.

Ed Wozniak of Fallbrook won all seven games with two skunks to take first place. Second and third places went to Fallbrook peggers Frank Cardiff with six wins and two skunks, followed by Woody Wood with six wins and no skunks. The next five places belonged to Marty Hess, Eileen Haworth, Lois Ash, Chuck Grow and Nancy Jacobson, who all had five wins with a skunk.

The $25 gift card donated by Ralph’s Grocery on Old Grove Road in Oceanside was won by Carl Troupe.

Senior Cribbage Challenges are held on the fourth Thursday of each month and consist of seven games. The next match will be held July 26 at the Vista Elks Lodge, 1947 East Vista Way. The lodge can be contacted by phone at (760) 724-1968. Play begins at 12:30 p.m.; those who would like lunch are asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m. All who enjoy cribbage are invited to join the fun.
