Ortwein accepted into nursing program

SAN MARCOS — Jennifer Ortwein, a 2004 graduate of Fallbrook High School, has been accepted into California State University at San Marcos’ School of Nursing. Ortwein was one of 42 students accepted out of a total of over 450 applicants.

Ortwein has attended CSUSM for the past three years with a pre-nursing major. Acceptance into the Nursing Program is highly competitive and based on a points system which includes core and general course GPA, volunteer hours and test scores.

She has spent this past year attending school, working part-time and volunteering at Fallbrook Hospital in the OB/GYN section. She was also awarded a scholarship from the Hospital Auxiliary for her scholastic achievement at the university. Jennifer plans to complete her BS in nursing and then continue her education specializing as an anesthetist nurse.
