Amendment to Bonsall subdivision agreement approved

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved an amendment to a subdivision improvement agreement for a 39.32-acre parcel in Bonsall.

The amendment to the Joint Agreement to Improve Major Subdivision covers 13 planned residential lots east of Olive Hill Road at the west end of Miles Ranch. The amendments increase the security and acknowledge a substitution in ownership parties, and the supervisors’ 5-0 vote July 25 also extends the time to complete the subdivision improvements.

In December 1999 the supervisors approved the final map for the project along with a joint agreement to improve the subdivision secured by bonds. In January 2004 Jasdec Partners sold the property to 8000 M, LLC, and in November 2006 the new ownership made a request to the county to process the replacement of security.

The original bond for $475,600 was released by the supervisors’ approval. A new $912,700 performance bond in favor of the county and the Rainbow Municipal Water District guarantees construction of the public improvements while a $465,350 labor and material bond guarantees timely payment for labor and construction materials.

The supervisors had previously approved three time extensions for the completion of the improvements. The time extension approved July 25 extends the performance completion date to June 23, 2008.
