Woman's Club mahjong tournement generates full house

FALLBROOK — The fourth annual mahjong tournament of the Fallbrook Woman’s Club was held on June 29 at the clubhouse. Attended by a sitting-room-only crowd of mahjong devotees, the event was a resounding success, according to Chairwoman Nona McFarland.

The event included lunch and prizes were awarded for highest and lowest count at each table. An opportunity drawing included a quilt by club member Araxy Moosa and donations from various vendors. First prize – $300 in cash – was won by Mary Foulkes.

The event is held annually on the last Friday of June. Proceeds benefit the club’s scholarship fund.
