Rico promoted at Filanc

SAN DIEGO — Gabriel Rico of Bonsall has been promoted to vice president of marketing and business development at J.R. Filanc Construction Company, Inc., announced Mark Filanc, PE, DBIA, president of the San Diego-based design-build and value engineering firm, specializing in wastewater and water treatment facilities. Rico previously served as vice president and chief estimator.
Rico initially joined the firm in 1983 and offers approximately 30 years of experience in the water/wastewater and construction industries. In his new position, he is charged with the development and implementation of marketing and business development strategies, including fostering strategic business relationships, developing the company’s annual marketing plan, overseeing design and production of collateral materials, managing the company’s Web site, analyzing advertising opportunities and providing overall leadership to the company’s marketing division.
Rico holds a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering from California State Polytechnical University, Pomona. He is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering.
Born in Mexico and raised in Los Angeles, Rico currently resides in Bonsall with his wife, Barbara, and their son. In his leisure time, he enjoys muscle cars and cycling.
