RE: 'Al Gore III arrested' [Opinion, 8/2/07]

I wonder what Al Gore has done to Chris Fuller to deserve Mr. Fuller’s diatribe? If he was embarrassed by the actions of his adult son, where’s the sin? I would expect that George Bush might have had a similar reaction every time his teenaged daughters had their drunken escapades publicized.

Mr. Gore did not steal the 2000 election; he isn’t responsible for the quagmire in Iraq, he hasn’t repeatedly spit on our Constitution, he hasn’t made deals with China allowing contaminated food, faulty tires and a million lead-poisoned toys to be exported to our country. So, what is your problem, Mr. Fuller? Are you so incensed about his stand on global warming that you fail to notice – or are apathetic about – the dangerous disregard that the current administration has for the welfare of American citizens?

Look at it this way, Chris: if George Bush doesn’t stop burning down our forests, Al Gore won’t have any trees left to save and your worries will be over.
