Zion Lutheran School welcomes new principal

FALLBROOK — Zion Lutheran Church and School is both blessed and pleased to introduce their new principal, Nancy Swanlund! Ms. Swanlund is an experienced and talented educator who seeks to “share the love of Jesus with children, families and coworkers in our Lutheran school, helping them to excel in academics, enrich their faith and expand their experiences.”

Throughout her distinguished career spanning 30 years, Ms. Swanlund has faithfully served for nearly 20 years in elementary classrooms, touching forever the lives of countless youth through her excellent instruction, motivating direction of vocal and handbell choirs and expert coaching of volleyball. As a capable administrator for the past 11 years, Ms. Swanlund first served for six years as superintendent of education/principal of Immanuel Lutheran School in Riverside, followed by distinguished service as principal of Emmaus Lutheran School in Alhambra for the past five years. In addition, Ms. Swanlund has been instrumental in teacher training and professional staff development through her service as a supervisor for student teachers, a curriculum module writer and a workshop presenter at educators’ conferences in both the US and Chile.

Ms. Swanlund, who earned degrees with honors in mathematics, youth education and a Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, has blessed numerous schools with her expertise in promoting and developing well-rounded, excellent curricular programs and instruction, strong parental school support and partnerships and implementation of fiscally responsible budgetary policies. Her stellar service in education is enhanced by her use of many unique gifts, her ability to motivate and positively encouraged, and fueled by her faith, commitment, driver and her characteristic joy which permeates every aspect of her life, ministry and service.

Nancy Swanlund is eager to meet current and prospective Zion families. She encourages their participation in helping students develop as lifelong learners committed to living, learning and leading through Christ.

Under her Ms. Swanlund’s gifted leadership, Zion desires to further strengthen and establish partnerships with families providing a safe, loving and nurturing learning environment where children discover, develop and use their unique gifts and where they may continually grow spiritually, academically and socially in grace, knowledge, wisdom and love for Christ and for others.
