Village News: Where and when did you get your car?
John Harrison: I bought my car three months ago from a gentleman who was trying to sell it at the Long Beach antique swap meet.
VN: Why did you choose this car?
JH: I wanted this car because I have always thought it was, and still is, the sexiest car Ford ever made. Just look at those headlights!
VN: Do you have any stories to tell about it?
JH: No stories yet to tell, just a longtime love affair with Henry Ford.
VN: What caused you to be interested in cars?
JH: My interest in cars began by riding in the rumble seat of my grandfather’s late ’30s Buick. I thought, “This is for me.”
VN: What is the farthest trip you have taken in your car? Do you drive it regularly?
JH: The farthest trip I have been on with my car is to Azusa to have the windows replaced. I attend car shows and Cruises in the area and drive the car daily.
VN: Do you have a name for your car?
JH: I don’t have a name for my car as of yet, although I have called it several not-so-nice names when I skinned my knuckles trying to remove an old rusted nut or bolt.
VN: What sacrifices have you made, if any, for your car?
JH: Sacrifices? I sold my soul to the war department (my wife) in order to get this car. Just kidding. Both of us enjoy driving through the Temecula Valley.
VN: Anything else?
JH: One of the biggest thrills we get is showing our car to youngsters and explaining to them that newer is not always better. A lot of us old timers still have a lot to say!
