New Live Oak leaders named

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) board has approved the promotion of Live Oak School Assistant Principal Lillian Perez to principal for the 2007-2008 school year.

Perez replaces Tom Rhine, who was selected in June to be the district’s Pupil Personnel Administrator and principal of the Iowa Street alternative school.

Perez joined the district as a bilingual teacher in 1997 and became a lead teacher assigned to Maie Ellis Elementary School in 2001.

Superintendent Janice Schultz says she will recommend to the board that Stephanie Blinco-Martinez be named the new assistant principal under Perez. Blinco-Martinez was hired as a lead teacher for Maie Ellis in 2004. Prior to her tenure with FUESD, Blinco-Martinez was a special education teacher in the Oceanside district and taught in the South Bay Union School District’s Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program.

Dr. Schultz also announced she is recommending Nancy Foster for the open assistant principal position at La Paloma School. Foster is expected to fill the position previously held by Lidia Scinski, who accepted a position with the San Marcos School District.

Foster majored in Spanish at CSU Northridge and earned her master’s degree from the same university. She was most recently a principal in the Hueneme School District.

Dr. Schultz’s recommendations will go before the governing board for approval at the August 20 meeting.
