Bonsall Woman's Club plans 'Magic' events,

While others may still be in the throes of summer vacation, the hardworking members of the Bonsall Woman’s Club have begun working in earnest on their popular annual charitable event “Magic of Christmas.” The group is pleased to move their regular monthly meetings (the first Thursday of each month) back to San Luis Rey Downs Country Club in Bonsall beginning September 6.

This will mark the fifteenth year the organization has staged the Magic of Christmas events in order to raise funds for philanthropic causes. The title sponsor of this year’s events is Arlyne Ingold.

Chairperson Jane Johnson and co-chairperson Rhonda Reinke have announced that the Victorian teas will be held on Tuesday, December 4, and Wednesday, December 5, at the Grand Tradition; the Grand Finale will be held on Thursday, December 6, at the Golf Club of California.

Themed “A Victorian Tea” and offering traditional tea fare served at beautifully decorated tables, these events will also feature a boutique with attractive items from local vendors, offered for guests’ shopping pleasure. Bonsall’s Sullivan Middle School Show Choir will make a return visit this year and is sure to delight the audience with their energy, choreography and excellent young voices.

The Grand Finale, an evening event designed to finish the charitable events with polish, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on December 6. This year’s theme, “Stepping Out with My Baby,” will include live entertainment, dancing, heavy hors d’oeuvres and the raffle drawing for a magnificently decorated Christmas tree sponsored by Major Market and decorated by the talented Linda Stanley. A drawing will also be held for a beautiful 15-karat kunzite pendant.

“Early donations from Bob Tavano of Banc of America Premier Banking & Investments in Bonsall and Ace Party Rentals of Fallbrook have made a huge difference in the planning of the Grand Finale,” Jane Johnson said.

The seven-foot tree, viewed as the piece de resistance, will be on display beginning the first week of November at Caffé Primo (Main Avenue and Fig Street). Raffle tickets for the tree and pendant will be available at the coffeehouse.

Johnson said that invitations for both events will be mailed to previous attendees on October 1. Tickets are $45 per person for the teas and $50 per person for the Grand Finale if purchased before November 1. After November 1, Grand Finale tickets will be $75 per person.
