Contract Carpet offers more than just carpeting

Husband and wife team John and Michelle Alonso have created a homey ambience in the Contract Carpet showroom. At the center of their quaint showroom are two plush leather couches and a coffee table where patrons can sit down in a relaxed atmosphere and discuss the variety of quality inventory that Contract Carpet has to offer.

“We want people to feel like they are home,” said Michelle.

There are numerous skylights in this showroom. Natural lighting provides customers with an accurate definition of both the detail and color of the products they are viewing. Contract Carpet offers hardwood, ceramic tiles, carpet and stone flooring for purchase and installation.

“On a technical aspect, everything we have in our store we have hand-selected,” said Michelle. “John has worked with and handled these products.” In essence, their inventory is based on high-quality and value.

John and Michelle are delighted to have a new product line added to their prefinished hardwood floor selection: Mirage. This prominent company is based in Quebec, Canada, and John and Michelle are thrilled to have it offered in their store. Customers are given personalized attention while in the showroom and also during the installation. “We give people special attention per job,” said John. According to Michelle, she and John spend a great deal of time with their customers to make sure they get what they really want.

Michelle and John view every job as if it was their own home by taking both product information and budget into consideration. John is an expert when it comes to minimizing waste and is responsible with a customer’s budget when ordering each product.

Though Contract Carpet does commercial work, the majority of their business is focused on the residential level.

Contract Carpet opened 15 years ago; however, John and Michelle sold it in 2000. A few years later, the couple decided to repurchase their family-owned business once again and provide flooring service to their community.

John grew up in this industry, as his father owned his own flooring installation business. At a young age, John learned this artistic trade. Michelle’s talents at Contract Carpet come alive when assisting customers with color and texture to achieve the right decorum for a given room. “I really like it,” said Michelle.

John and Michelle knew each other back in high school; John recalls that Michelle’s occupational interests were in clothing design. “Michelle has always been into fabric, colors and textures. It’s great that she has been able to apply that to this business.”

Michelle and John understand that purchasing flooring can be a stressful endeavor. With this in mind, they try to make the experience as enjoyable as they can for their patrons.

Contact Carpet is located in Fallbrook at 560 Industrial Way, #B. They can be contacted by phone at (760) 723-8131.
