'Pops on the Green' tickets available

FALLBROOK — There’s still time to purchase admission tickets for Fallbrook Music Society’s 22nd annual “Symphony Pops on the Green” on Thursday, August 23. This annual summer tradition is an evening filled with friends, family, food and fun under the stars.

The event kicks off the Society’s 30th anniversary season with a special engagement of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra in the exquisite gardens of the Grand Tradition. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and low chairs for lawn seating and picnics are welcome.

Under the direction of conductor Matthew Garbutt, the San Diego Symphony Orchestra promises an exciting presentation of music with familiar selections from “Oklahoma!” and “Grand Canyon Suite” as well as “My Kind of Town,” “Salute to the Big Apple,” “America the Beautiful,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “Midway March” and the rousing finale, “God Bless the USA.” The evening will also feature dynamic soloists Victoria Robertson, Miss USO San Diego, and Petty Officer Second Class Jarrod Fowler.

Title Sponsor Bill Horn, San Diego County Board of Supervisors, and Silver Sponsor Banc of America Investment Services, Inc., the Hegardt Group generously underwrite this year’s program. Funds generated through this event help support Fallbrook Music Society’s annual symphony concert season and an increasing number of musical education programs in Fallbrook schools.

General admission tickets for the event are $25 adult and $5 for children 12 and under. Concertgoers may purchase their tickets at http://www.fallbrookmusicsociety.org, at Major Market in Fallbrook or by calling the Music Society at (760) 451-8644.
