Edward Jones hosting panel discussion on saving for college

BONSALL — Edward Jones financial advisor Kent Borsch will host a professional broadcast course titled “Saving for College on a Tax-advantaged Basis” for CPAs, tax professionals and attorneys at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, at 5256 South Mission Road, Suite 807.

This program is designed to help tax and legal practitioners advise their clients about the options available to help reduce college costs, navigate through financial aid and help increase the tax advantages associated with college, such as 529 plans, Coverdell Education Savings Accounts, the Hope and Lifetime Learning Credits and more.

This course is approved for three credit hours of continuing professional education for CPAs and tax professionals. State accreditation varies for attorneys.

Topics covered during this panel discussion will include:

• How to navigate the financial aid process

• How to borrow for college expenses in an economical way

• Tax incentives for saving and paying for college expenses

• Strategies to help reduce college costs
