Apple pie, ice cream offered to blood donors

A special treat is in store for donors at an upcoming San Diego Blood Bank blood drive. Hosted by the Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary on Thursday, September 13, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Community Center, 341 Heald Lane, donors will be offered homemade apple pie and ice cream. The pies are made by Auxiliary members and Major Market donates the ice cream.

Participants will have the opportunity to join the San Diego Blood Bank’s new Donor Difference program, which includes access to an online store for donors and the ability to track cholesterol, pulse and blood pressure after each donation.

A good meal is recommended prior to donation. Anyone who is at least 17 years old, in good health and weighs at least 110 pounds may be eligible to give blood.
