Public invited to September Book Talk

The first Book Talk of the 2007-2008 season will be Thursday, September 13, at 1:30 p. m. at the Fallbrook Public Utility District board room. The selected book is “1776” by David McCullough, a history of the American Revolutionary War with a strong focus on the decisions and role of George Washington throughout the war. The discussion will be led by Gloria Mattson.

Sponsored by Friends of the Fallbrook Library, the community book club meets the second Thursday of each month from September to June. The discussions are open to the public, no reservations are required and attendees need not be members of the Friends organization.

Other selections on this year’s schedule include “Northanger Abbey” by Jane Austen, “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson and “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card. Suggestions of books and volunteers to lead discussions are welcome. For more information, call (760) 420-9957.
