Bread From Heaven Unlimited expounds on Catholicism

Pam Forrester, founder of the nonprofit organization Bread From Heaven Unlimited, has always had an aptitude in researching theology.

She has an undeniable passion for reading scriptures and studying the ancient texts. Although Forrester was born and raised in the Protestant faith, she converted to Catholicism in 1999.

“My mission for Bread From Heaven Unlimited is to expand people’s knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith,” shared Forrester.

Forrester started “reading up” on Catholicism when her daughter attended the University of San Diego, a Catholic school. Being an avid reader and teacher of scriptures, Forrester wanted to have some knowledge of the Catholic faith in the event her daughter had any questions.

It was at this point in time when Forrester felt a pull toward Catholicism. “Their scriptures had different interpretations than what I had been taught, and there was nothing illegitimate about it.”

Though she was resistant to dive into new religious waters, the more she learned about Catholicism, the more her faith led her in that direction. “I feel so blessed to have found and stumbled into the Catholic Church.”

Bread From Heaven has been in operation since 2006 and has provided Forrester the opportunity to explain different issues regarding the Catholic Church. This nonprofit organization is online and people are encouraged to log on to the Web site, read about a flurry of topics and respond to blogs.

Some of the subject matter ranges from priesthood issues to marriage to baptism to faith and Mass. This type of interactive forum has proven to encourage discussion, while always revealing something new.

Being a devout Catholic, Forrester has visited Vatican City. “It was a great experience,” she said. On one of their vacations in Rome, Forrester and her husband were at St. Peter’s Basilica on All Saint’s Day. “It was beautiful.” Forrester has also attended memorable Masses at St. Peter’s Basilica on two separate occasions while visiting Italy.

Forrester admits she adores all the art in Italy. The Sistine Chapel was a wonderful destination for her. “I also loved the history and artifacts in the Vatican Museum,” said Forrester. “Someday, I would love to go to the Holy Land.”

While Forrester has studied and researched scriptures, she also took it upon herself to learn the Greek alphabet for translation purposes. By having a determined mindset, she has been able to deduce the definition of Greek words from different textbook references. “I tried to take a Greek class and could not do it – I was too old for that,” she said, laughing.
