PEO Chapter WK holds BIL party

Chapter WK of the PEO Sisterhood recently held a “BIL” (Brothers-in-Law) party for their husbands at Pala Mesa Village. Eighty attended the event, which was co-chaired by Peggy Gausepohl and Beverly Griffith.

PEO was founded January 21, 1869, in order to further women’s educations. Joanna Scofield currently serves as president of Chapter WK.

Chapter WK was established in 1991 by Jean Gower (deceased) and Arleen Dillard. Gower was a member of PEO for 60 years, serving as president of many chapters in California and other states across the US. The nonprofit Jean Gower Foundation was established upon Gower’s death in 2004 with donations from many chapters, plus additional friends and relatives.
