Walt Schuette, secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Fallbrook, was installed last week in Reno as the 2007-2008 Lt. Governor of Division 37 of North County San Diego.

Schuette has been a member of the Fallbrook Kiwanis Club since 1993. Now a retired major, he served for more than 35 years in the United States Marine Corps. He completed several combat tours in Vietnam and is the recipient of the Cross of Gallantry from the Republic of Vietnam, among other service awards.

After leaving the service, Schuette returned to college to obtain additional degrees in communications and human resources before starting his own business as a career coach, ultimately serving clients in 11 countries and 43 states.

A published author and keynote speaker at national conventions in his field, Schuette rose to fame as a noted résumé writer and career coach before closing his business in 2003.

Schuette has been married to Maurie for almost 37 years and together they have two sons, Walt Jr. of Colorado and Christopher Scott of Texas, and a daughter, Robin Lynn Tritt of Kansas.

As a Kiwanian, Schuette has been a Distinguished Club President and Distinguished Club Secretary and received numerous awards and accolades for his leadership and outstanding service. This division is proud to have him serve as their new Lt. Governor.
