Fallbrook seniors win monthly cribbage match

Though Jeanne Snoddy of the Oceanside team lead the way by winning all seven games with a skunk, the Fallbrook Senior Center cribbage team made it three wins in a row at the August 23 Senior Challenge.

The top four players were all from the Oceanside team; however, on the other end of the ledger, Oceanside had the bottom six players. That included three players (who shall remain nameless) who were not able to come up with one win. With 30 players in the event, the Fallbrook team won 56 games to Oceanside Senior Center team’s 49 wins.

Following Snoddy in second place was Marty Hess with 6 wins and 1 skunk. Nicki Newvine took third with 5 wins, with 3 being skunks. Fourth-place finisher was Bob Rebar with 5 wins and 2 skunks.

The $25 gift card donated by the Ralph’s grocery store was won by Fallbrook’s Obie Weeks.

Senior Cribbage Challenges are held on the fourth Thursday of each month and consist of seven games. The next match will be held September 27 at the Vista Elks Lodge, 1947 East Vista Way. The lodge can be contacted by phone at (760) 724-1968. Play begins at 12:30 p.m.; those who would like lunch are asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m. All who enjoy cribbage are invited to join the fun.
