Art committee seeks new member

The Art in Public Places Committee of Fallbrook is seeking a new board member.

Art in Public Places is a committee of the Fallbrook Village Association. The seven-member committee meets as needed (typically every six weeks). The committee works to increase and enhance public art in the Village of Fallbrook with current emphasis on obtaining sculpture.

The Village currently has some 30 works of public art, including a number of murals and sculptures. A recent example of the committee’s work is the mural at the corner of Main and Alvarado.

Persons interested in joining the committee should have knowledge of visual arts and be prepared to do hands-on work in the community to benefit public art. This might include site selection, art selection and the process of bringing the artist, site owner and other interested parties together in a fruitful manner.

Interested persons should contact Committee Chairman Larry Miller at (760) 723-9516.
