Chez Cherie a warm, comfortable setting

Chez Cherie Salon is a family-owned-and-operated beauty salon that has been in business since the early 1960s. Owner of this charming salon, Gloria Garcia, worked diligently when her mother owned it long ago.

As the clock has ticked on, Garcia’s daughters, Teri Fry and Shelly Barnett, have worked at Chez Cherie, adding their own specialties to this already wonderful establishment.

“We have generations of customers coming in our salon,” shared Barnett. “A lot of our customers have become our friends.”

Some of their customers, who have relocated out of the area, still have their hair and nails done at Chez Cherie when they return to Fallbrook to visit family and friends. “That happens a lot,” said Barnett.

Fry is a highly experienced hairstylist who enjoys giving her clientele a fresh look which enhances their features. She has a creative vision in helping someone find that right “look” to fit their lifestyle and personality. She is also very well-known for her magnificent up-dos.

While Fry cuts, colors and styles, her sister demonstrates her artistic capacity in the nail department. Barnett’s manicures and pedicures are very popular in Fallbrook.

From children to seniors, Chez Cherie offers a variety of cuts and styles to suit the whole family. They are also flexible when it comes to last-minute appointments and the occasional walk-in.

Recently, the salon added a new member to their team: esthetician Alexa Leighton. Her specialties include permanent makeup, microdermabrasion, an array of facials and waxing.

Chez Cherie thrives on its staff’s professionalism and friendly demeanor while making its clientele look good and feel good. “Everyone really likes our friendly atmosphere and they feel comfortable the minute they walk in,” said Fry.

The ladies at this salon have intentionally kept their business small and intimate. There are no assistants helping them and no additional hands washing their clients’ hair or rinsing out color.

“We do everything,” explained Fry. Maintaining a personalized, one-on-one service for their clientele has remained monumental.

Customer care is everything for Chez Cherie. They are in the business to please and pamper their customers. “We listen to what our customers say and ask for,” stated Barnett.

The price list at this quaint salon is highly competitive. Rather than jumping on the glitzy salon bandwagon and charging exorbitant prices, they have chosen to remain modest. These ladies understand the expenses that go hand in hand with daily living and have kept this important detail in mind with their price structure.

“We don’t want to take advantage of people,” said Barnett.

Chez Cherie goes over and beyond in customer care, making each client feel special – as if they were part of the salon’s own family.
