FHS Coach Hauck suffers fatal heart attack

Preliminary reports indicate that Coach Marty Hauck passed away at about 4 pm on Wednesday, after suffering a heart attack. It is reported that he had just finished a run with his Cross Country team during practice. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and sources say he passed away in the ambulance and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Mourners gathered at Fallbrook Presbyterian in the evening after hearing the news.

Coach Hauck was also a Freshman Honors English and Senior English teacher.

Fallbrook High School is providing grief counseling for Hauck's classes as well as for the teams. Parent Lisa Hasvold said, "Marty was not just a coach/teacher, he was a mentor, friend and amazing role model.

A meeting has been arranged for Friday, Sept. 21, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Fallbrook High School Amphitheater Bowl Area to pray for the Hauck family. Coach Hauck's wife, Kathi, is also an employee of Fallbrook High along with his brother, Tim Hauck.

Services for Marty Hauck will be held on Saturday, September 29, at 10:00AM in the Bob Burton Center for Performing Arts.
