County grant program helps promote nonprofits

The County of San Diego Board of Supervisors will award up to five $10,000 grants to help local nonprofit and community groups produce half-hour video programs which will be featured on the County Television Network (CTN).

The goal of the grant program is to develop diverse and innovate programming that highlights the county’s Strategic Initiatives: Children, the Environment and Safe and Livable Communities.

Grant recipients are required to partner with a county department or agency to inform the public about current local issues facing the community.

Past grant-funded videos have focused on county disaster preparedness, volunteer search and rescue programs, exercise and health programs, responsible pet ownership and the environmental diversity of the San Diego region.

To apply for the Community Partnership for Local Government Programming Video Grant Program, go to http://www.ctn.org and click on “Grant Program.”

The application deadline is Monday, November 19, at 5 p.m. Recipients will be announced and money awarded beginning in March.
