Stage Coach Sunday rides again

Sunday, October 7, is an important date for Fallbrook Land Conservancy (FLC) supporters! It’s the 17th annual old-fashioned celebration known as Stage Coach Sunday at the Palomares House on South Stage Coach Lane.

The fundraising event will feature music by Fallbrook favorites Ken & Phee, a live “Wild World” animal show by Pacific Animal Productions, a delicious barbecue dinner and wagon rides by Victorian Carriages.

Other scheduled activities include a children’s Halloween contest, face painting, pumpkin carving and games and contests for all ages. A highlight of the event every year is the silent auction and raffle, with hundreds of tempting prizes donated by local businesses, resorts, golf courses and San Diego attractions.

Event hours are from 1 to 4:30 p.m., with barbecue served from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Special sponsor packages are available at the event or by calling the FLC office at (760) 728-0889.

This year’s major sponsor of Stage Coach Sunday is San Diego County Supervisor Bill Horn. Proceeds are used to support the stewardship of the FLC’s open space preserves – totaling more than 1,800 acres – care of the Palomares House and park and activities such as tree planting and trail maintenance that help preserve the rural character and natural beauty of Fallbrook.
