Carl Wayne Chipp Sr.

Carl Wayne Chipp Sr., 69, a longtime resident of Fallbrook, died in his home on September 2, 2007, from complications with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Carl was born February 22, 1938, to Norman and Clarabelle Chipp in Weldon, IA. When his children were young he was employed as a golf course groundskeeper and later in life as a heavy equipment operator, helping to create many of the roads now traveled in the Temecula and Murrieta areas.

He also worked on the construction of Parker Dam as well as occasionally being called upon to help fight fires by the California Department of Forestry as far away as Big Sur. His favorite pastimes were watching Chargers football games and NASCAR races.

Carl was preceded in death by both his parents; brother Eldon Chipp; wife Rosemary Lucille Chipp (Hall); and son Joshua Kyle.

He is survived by a loving and supportive family – daughters Melinda Coats, Placentia, CA, Brenda Scalf, Oceanside, CA, and Patricia Chipp, Fallbrook; son Carl Chipp Jr., Hemet, CA; sisters Hazel Showers, Norma Dotson and Portia Chipp; brothers Herb, Tom, Harold and Steve Chipp; grandsons Cameron Coats, Aslan Miller, Jason Press, Dylan Press, Trenton Scalf and Chris Bingham; granddaughters Kathleen Chipp, Laya Miller, Lisa Press and Christine Bingham; great-grandson Kai Chipp; and great-granddaughter Julissa Morga. He will be greatly missed by all.

There will be a gathering for family and friends at Live Oak Park, Area F, on September 22, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All who wish may bring a potluck dish and beverages to share.
