Edwin Hermann

Edwin Hermann, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2007, at the age of 84.

He was born March 22, 1923, in Illinois and lived there for 39 years before moving to Mission Viejo, CA, and living there for 34 years. Two years ago he moved to Fallbrook.

He served in the US Army as an infantryman during World War II as an automatic rifleman and was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. After serving as a Los Angeles sheriff officer, he was employed at the LA Times newspaper as a security officer for 29 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, and was active as a Boy Scout leader for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bobby Ann Hermann; son Randy Hermann; daughters and sons-in-law Rhonda Carlson, Dawn and Richard Pion, Bonnie Bertram and Wendy and Dave Wilson; grandchildren Jason Irby, Harley Bertram, Rachel Bertram, Christi Call, Angela Call, Ashley Pion, Tory Verret, Lindsey Pion and Brooke Wilson; and four great-grandchildren.

The family is arranging a private burial at sea. He will be greatly missed.
