Master Gardener Program providing popular seminar

More than the color of the leaves will be changing in local yards. Residents can find out how to prepare their gardens for the fall planting season at the “Timely Tips for Fall Gardeners” seminar.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Marina Village Conference Center at 1945 Quivira Way, San Diego. It is sponsored annually by the County of San Diego Farm and Home Advisor and Master Gardener Association.

The seminar features six two-hour classes and a plant sale during the lunch break. The pre-registration deadline is September 24. Classes fill quickly and early registration is recommended.

Topics include “California Friendly Plants,” “Planting for Year-Round Interest,” “Four Steps to a Professional Landscape,” “Fall and Winter Rose Care,” “Holiday Decorating with Fresh Flowers” and “Deciduous Fruit Tree Care.”

For cost, additional program and registration information, call (858) 694-2860 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or visit http://www.MasterGardenersSanDiego.org.
