Rotary Club of Fallbrook names five Special Paul Harris Fellows

Chet Gannett, Bob Tavano, Abby Elston, Jack Wood and Dave Breeding received their new Special Paul Harris pins at the weekly luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of Fallbrook. Special Paul Harris Fellows reach higher levels by donating an additional $1,000 to the Rotary International Foundation. Connie Fish presented the five individuals and explained each level of their giving, and guest speaker at the meeting Nick Phillips, a Rotarian from South Africa, gave the five their new pins commensurate with their level of giving. Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary, and monies donated to the RIF help fund such things as polio eradication efforts worldwide; health care, housing, and education for people in depressed villages; and student and teacher exchange programs.
