Reason to stay the course

A review of history makes it evident that mankind is currently engaged in a monumental struggle -- the outcome of which will determine the course of history for decades, perhaps centuries, to come. It is nothing less than a clash of civilizations – OURS, the most tolerant and free that has ever existed on the face of the earth, and Fanatical Islam, which does not have the military means to defeat us, but cleverly uses our tolerance and freedom to break our will. Our esteemed ‘diversity’ is a joke to them and they are not above using it to subjugate us to their ‘superior’ value system. Ironically, in our desire to be tolerant and accepting we are likely to eliminate tolerance all together!

According to Webster, a patriot is someone who proudly supports or defends his country and its way of life. A traitor is someone who behaves in a disloyal or treacherous manner. Using these definitions, I think it’s fair to say the rhetoric of some of our politicians during the course of the Iraq war has been more treacherous than patriotic. Rather than defend our country in word and deed for what it is -- the beacon of hope in the world – liberating, protecting and ministering to others with dollars, food, medicine, and technical expertise, they blame America for most of the ills in the world and call our attempts to protect our way of life conquests – even comparing us and our leaders to Nazi Germany!

If we want the respect of the world, we will have to do again what we have always done – stand immovable against the evil of oppression. Whether it is a popular course of action is of no consequence to those who value human life, because they know it is the RIGHT thing to do.

We can all make a difference -- support continued or increased efforts to protect America against the global threat of terror by calling your representatives.
