Youth art classes start soon

FALLBROOK — The Art Campus at Fallbrook has a series of youth art classes starting soon. In Marilee Ragland’s “Art Expressions” class, students will engage in a variety of projects utilizing watercolor, tempera, chalk, oil pastels, collage and papier-mché with a strong focus on composition and color. The program runs Oct. 4 through Nov. 8 for ages 7 to 12.

Kids with wild imaginations can let their ideas come to life in Mr. D’s cartooning and character development class. Students will be able to develop their own original cartoon characters and storylines. Classes, for ages 10 and up, will be held Oct. 13, 20 and 27.

Mr. D’s “Creatures of the Night” explores character design and development around the theme of Halloween. Classes are for ages 15 and up and will be held Oct. 10, 17 and 24.

Students ages 5 to 14 are invited to play in the dirt with Miss Jo’s “Mudslingers” ceramics class. Students will explore hand-building and free-form techniques that result in several finished pieces on illustration techniques to create different creatures of the night. Classes for ages 8 to 14 will be held Oct. 17 through Nov. 14. Classes for ages 5 to 7 are held Oct. 19 through Nov. 16.
