CERT offers disaster prep classes

FALLBROOK — As the North County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) says, “If the disaster doesn’t get you – we will.” When a major disaster hits, it is important for everyone to be prepared to care for themselves until emergency responders can arrive, which, depending on the situation, may be days.

A series of classes will be offered on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. October 2 through December 4. Measures to be self-sufficient, including urgent life-saving and sustenance needs, as well as such skills as search and rescue, basic first aid and trauma psychology will be taught, with a graduation and drill at the end of instruction at which time students will be issued certificates of completion of the academy.

Classes will be held in Fallbrook at Living Waters Church, 2000 Reche Road. For more information or to register, go to http://www.northcountycert.com or telephone Linda Bannerman at (760) 469-0902 or Millie Martin at (760) 500-7473.
