I am a proud member of MoveOn.org

Media has focused on MoveOn.org with misinformation. Portrayed “far left,” we actually represent a broad cross-section of Americans…with Republican and Democrat members.

Nationally, 3.3 million strong, harnessing the Internet to debate, select, vote on and prioritize member-driven strategies… Locally, we are professionals, blue collar, military and ordinary citizens. We are your friends, neighbors and relatives. We care deeply about the same issues most Americans do and are proud to use the organizational power of MoveOn.org to carry out our responsibilities as citizens.

We care that this administration ignored pleas from the world community and invaded Iraq without moral or legal basis, resulting in devastation and quagmire in Iraq, and a more dangerous world. Dedicated to bringing our troops safely home, rebuilding the international alliances necessary to address real terrorist threats. This is the view of the great majority of Americans.

Within the last few days, the House and Senate voted to condemn a MoveOn.org newspaper ad. Give me a break!

Regardless of party, we should all be inundating our representatives with mail and phone messages insisting that we get to the business of the country, which includes ending the war and taking care of our own infrastructure, welfare and security.
