Ag water workshop Oct. 22

BONSALL — An agricultural water workshop will be held October 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Bonsall Community Center, 31555 Old River Road.

Speakers and topics will include:

• Rua Petty: implementation of the 30-percent cutback

• Gene Buckley: monitoring, reading your meter, penalties

• Justan Haessly: irrigation practices/efficiency, CMIS Utilization, irrigation efficiency measurement/evaluation

• UCSD Farm Advisor Dr. Gary Bender

• Charley Wolk: grove management

• Flower grower/wholesaler Mike Mellano

• Rueben Hofshi: growers assessment

Subjects will include watering practices/techniques, impact of under-watering, irrigation maintenance, symptoms of water stress, stumping trees and more.
