Thunderbirds to perform at Miramar Air Show

SAN DIEGO — The US Air Force Thunderbirds will bring more than 50 years of precision aerial maneuvers to the skies over San Diego during the 2007 MCAS Miramar Air Show Oct. 12-14.

The Thunderbirds were initiated in 1953 as the Air Force’s official air performing unit and later adopted the name “Thunderbirds,” influenced in part by the Native American culture of the southwestern United States.

Parking, general admission and blanket seating are free to all attendees. Preferred seating, which includes grandstand, box seat and hosted chalet options, varies based on date of purchase and day, time and number of performances being attended. Children less than 3 years old are free.

Grandstand seating is free throughout the show for active-duty, retired and reserve military personnel. Military discounted tickets must be purchased at the MCAS Miramar Ticket Office and require the presentation of military ID.
