Fallbrook Food Pantry to receive supplies

SAN DIEGO — To help combat hunger, American’s Second Harvest is welcoming a new San Diego affiliate member and partnering with San Diego-based Chicken of the Sea on the national “Twice a Week for Better Health” campaign.

The new food bank, Second Harvest Food Bank for San Diego, began conducting food distributions October 9, allocating much-needed food to locally based nonprofit agencies including the Fallbrook Food Pantry.

Additionally, America’s Second Harvest and Chicken of the Sea International are launching a national campaign to educate people about the health benefits of seafood and get nutritious seafood into the hands of hungry Americans.

The USDA, American Medical Association, American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association all recommend people eat seafood twice a week.
