Thank you for supporting Marine families

I am the wife of a Marine currently serving in Iraq. Knowing that spending time with other military families is the secret to overcoming fear and loneliness, I decided to organize an end of summer Family Day for the spouses in my husband’s unit. Having limited resources, I turned to some citizens of Fallbrook for assistance.

Greg Coppock, president of Total Victory Ministry, videotaped a message from each wife to her Marine. These videos were then posted on PedrosTacos.com so that the men could easily download the greetings. Pedro’s Tacos not only provided the use of their Web site but also served lunch for 125 women and children for free!

Frank Shelter, a resident of Moreno Valley, donated his time and talents as a DJ, which completely transformed the event into a party. Ocean Waves Salon donated seven beautiful gift baskets filled with high-end hair products and cosmetics.

Fallbrook Rotary gave us $500 to help fund future activities. Eric Engebretson, owner of Home Theater Experience, raised money to install a home theater for a Marine who was badly injured several months ago.

We have been stationed at Camp Pendleton three times and have chosen to live in Fallbrook in each case. I tell whoever will listen it is not the weather that warms my heart but the people of this precious town.

Thank you all for your prayers and for sacrificing your time and money to support those of us at home.
