Janice Marie Borges-Stepan

Janice Marie Borges-Stepan, 56, passed away October 7, 2007, in Fallbrook. Born December 19, 1950, in Glendale, CA, she was a 19-year resident of Fallbrook.

Mrs. Borges-Stepan was a high school graduate and held an AA degree. She worked as an instructional aide for Fallbrook High School and will be remembered as a woman with grace: loving, considerate, colorful, supportive and courageous.

Devoted to her dogs, Fluffy and Annie, Mrs. Borges-Stepan’s pastimes included gardening, arranging family get-togethers, reading, swimming and spending time at the beach.

Mrs. Borges-Stepan was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Josephine Darvis. She is survived by her husband of six years, Gary Stepan, Fallbrook; daughter Jennifer Welker, Fallbrook; sons James and Jarett Borges, Fallbrook; sister Joretta Arris, Vista, CA; brother and sister-in-law David and Barbara Darvis, Walnut, CA; niece Valerie Arris, Austin, TX; and niece and nephew Chad and Dawnielle Darvis, Walnut.

Viewing will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 19, at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at Christ The King Lutheran Church, Fallbrook. Pastor Phil Tukua will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Janice Borges-Stepan Scholarship Fund, Fallbrook Union High School, 2400 S. Stage Coach Ln., Fallbrook, CA 92028.
