Monday would be speaking German

Responding to Jon Monday (Village News, 10-11-07), I am not talking about Vietnam (we lost that war); it’s only about Iraq and winning wars. War is “kill or be killed” and Mr. Monday would be speaking German today if he had his way.

The entire Congress approved American troop participation in the Iraqi war. Mr. Monday implies that it is all right for American troops to be murdered by terrorists but terrorists should be given free absolution.

Almost 4,000 of our troops have been killed, with approximately 2,500 murdered by road bombs. The CIA and Iraqi government know who the electrical road bomb setting technicians are. None of them has been charged with murder.

Four Blackwater construction workers took a shortcut through Fallujah in 2003 with an Iraqi police escort. Their escort disappeared, then these Americans were murdered, burned, beaten, stomped on, dragged through streets and hung from a bridge. The Iraqi government, our military and CIA know who is responsible for these murders. Has any Iraqi been charged with these murders, Mr. Monday?

Two Iraqis shot their American trainers in the back during their Iraqi National Guard training; the Iraqi government knows their identity. Have they been prosecuted for murder?

During the Battle of Fallujah the terrorists had safe houses stocked with American-supplied Iraqi Police and National Guard Uniforms and weapons. How did the terrorists get them?

During the Battle of Fallujah, like a pack of mad dogs, so-called innocent Iraqi civilians joined in fighting our Marines, as did our trained Iraqi Police and National Guard. The Iraqi Police/National Guard refused to be seen with American troops and deserted during this battle.

Mr. Monday, be intelligent and read “No True Glory” by Bing West to get true stories about Iraqi lies.
