Fire evacuees directed to shelters in Temecula area

Evacuees fleeing fires in Riverside and northern San Diego counties are being directed to the Red Cross shelter at the Temecula Community Center, which has been open to serve residents displaced by the Roca Fire in Aguanga. Evacuation orders involving the Roca Fire have been lifted but the shelter will remain in operation to serve residents in the two counties who are still displaced. The center is at 30875 Rancho Vista Road in Temecula.

In the event the community center reaches capacity, evacuees who arrive there will be directed to nearby alternate shelters. Members of the public who need information about shelter location s should contact Daphne Berlin, the Red Cross public information officer, at (951) 775-4627.
