Fallbrook residents directed to Community Center for assistance

When Fallbrook residents return to their homes, after various areas are approved by fire officials, they will find a good amount of information and assistance available to them at the Fallbrook Community Center, located at 341 Heald Lane.

County Representative Dahvia Lynch said the center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to assist Fallbrook residents that have been affected by the fire.

“We have prepared ourselves to be ready to assist residents of Fallbrook as soon as they begin to arrive after the evacuation order has been lifted,” Lynch said. “We have a lot of resources available here and we are prepared to provide free child care while people are here at the center gathering information they need.”

Numerous entities will be on site including:

* Department of Insurance – to assist with questions and concerns; protection of consumer insurance interests. Residents can also call State of California Insurance Consumer Hotline at (800) 927-4357 to ask questions and get information.

Representatives from communications companies (AT&T, Cox Communications and Time Warner) have also said they will provide representatives to field questions at the site.

Lynch said that many of the above departments will be electronically connected to their main offices so that information can be made available immediately to residents in need.

It is expected that due to the number of people affected by the Fallbrook fire, demand for information and assistance will be high.

“We are tentatively planning on being here for three to five weeks,” Lynch said.
