Janet Elaine Boyer

Janet Elaine Boyer was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 23, 2007.

Janet was born May 2, 1933, to Clark and Leitha Meade in Davenport, IA. She later moved to Rock Island, IL, where she attended Immanuel Lutheran School, moving again to southern Missouri. It was here that she met a handsome “Navy man,” Jim Boyer. After a whirlwind courtship of five days, they married and moved to San Diego. They relocated to Fallbrook in 1989 to be near family.

She is survived by her three children, Deborah Schmidt (husband Roger), Nancy Schoonover (husband Mike) and James Boyer II; grandsons Patrick Schmidt and Andy Schmidt (wife Olivia); and great-grandson Evan Edward Schmidt.

Janet was a loving, caring mother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed big family dinners and weekend barbeques with her kids. Janet also enjoyed traveling and loved a good “road trip,” collecting antiques to add to her collection.

She had a great sense of humor and had the ability to make the best of any situation God sent her way. Even during a fight with cancer, she always looked forward to the next good time!

Her greatest legacy is in the virtues she lived and taught her children – kindness, perseverance, love for all animals and faith in Jesus.

Janet was a longtime member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, where her service will be held on Saturday, November 3, at 10 a.m.

Mom, thank you for loving us and always putting us first – we’ll meet you at the gate…

Arrangements were handled by Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary.
